Interju etikett...
Asszisztenst keresek a munkahelyemen ezert mar egy ideje interjuztatok - tobb kevesebb sikerrel. A XXI. szazadban meg mindig nem alap nehany dolog es ezen nagyon elcsodalkozom (raadasul az USA-rol van szo... az ember azt hinne hogy... na de hagyjuk).
A tapasztalataimat szedtem ossze par pontban es kiraktam a Facebook-ra. Angolul van, de hatha erti mindenki. Ha nem szoljatok....
I admit it; I haven’t read any self-help books on how to nail a job interview. I thought some of the basics were just common sense. However, when I recently interviewed a few candidates I was shocked to see how badly they did. And I’m only talking about the basics. Based on my current experience interviewing candidates here’s a summary of what not to do if you want to make a good impression… LIKE it/ SHARE it - If I help just one person with this list, I will be happy
Basic interview etiquette by Anna:
1. Respond to my emails promptly (before and after the interview). I pay attention to how fast you respond to my email ... In this day and age it shouldn't take you 3 days to respond to me. That will definitely set the tone for the interview.
2. Show up on time! If you are not familiar with the location drive by the day before to make sure you know exactly where you need to go. If you are running late due to circumstances outside your power do call me so I know you are a responsible person and you value my time as much as yours. Don’t be late but don’t be 30 minutes early either. Oh and DON’T BE LATE! Get there early and then wait in your car or better yet walk around and get some fresh air. I have a job and I scheduled 30-60 minutes for your interview starting at a set time. 5-10 minutes is plenty early to show how eager you are.
3. Dress appropriately but don’t overdo it, unless you are interviewing for a stripper role wear business-like outfit. Gents, please make sure your pants cover your ankles, and ladies less is more ...
4. Bring a couple of copies of your resume just in case ...
5. Make sure you know what you claim to know on your resume because I will put you to the test. And if you don’t know half of what you say you do … you will sweat trying to answer my questions.
6. Stop talking non-stop about irrelevant things! Talk when needed and mainly to respond to question or to ask questions. Don’t go on and on about situations at your current place because I have no clue who Mary is and honestly I really don’t care.
7. Don’t go into details about your personal life either; I don’t need to know about your ex-wife.
8. Do not complain about your current boss or workload. It will make me nervous and will most likely not hire you… I don’t need someone who complains all the time.
9. Make sure you read up on the company/institution you are interviewing at and ask questions. I want to see that you are interested in us and not just in how much you are going to make.
10. And last but not least: SMILE! Especially if you have BRF (bitchy resting face)
+1. A 'thank you email' won't hurt either...
